Mitsubishi Chemical Hong Kong Limited was established in Hong Kong in 1972 by the then Mitsubishi Petrochemical Co. Ltd. Following the merger of Mitsubishi Petrochemical Co. Ltd. and Mitsubishi Kasei Corporation in 1994, the company adopted its current name, Mitsubishi Chemical Hong Kong Limited, to reflect the new name of its newly formed parent company, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation.
